The Importance of Defining Core Values

At In Time Tec, every decision we make is based off of our values of trust, transparency, integrity, and leadership. Determining company values is the first step in a life-long process. In order for these values to be practiced, they must be clearly defined within the company. Here is how our five founders define our company values.

Trust

Trust is the combination of character and competency. It is the foundation of who we are. Trust is an ongoing process that increases the speed of execution. When there is high trust, you are one with other human beings. High trust breaks barriers and smoothens relationships between two human beings or organizations. Contrarily, low trust increases skepticism and doubts.

Transparency

Transparency builds trust. It means that when making a decision that impacts another person's life, that person is entitled to know about it. People know what to expect out of us, there is no second guessing. It is important to note that transparency is not the same as confidentiality.  Employees feel they can reach out to anyone in the organization and can ask any question or share anything that needs to be shared. Customer’s can count on us to be transparent in our communication.

Integrity

Integrity is being whole and complete. It is not to be confused with a virtue or morality. It is doing what you said you would do at the time you said you would do it, to the quality you said you would do it to. It is important to note that if you can’t do it, you should communicate that to others and take responsibility for the consequences of not fulfilling your promise. It is also important to share what you will do differently going forward to remain in integrity. Employees and customers can count on us to be our word- “do what we say and say what we do.”

Leadership

Leadership is inspiring others with actions that leave them touched, moved, and inspired. Things rise or fall around a leader. If you change a leader, you change everything. At In Time Tec we say that leadership should inspire others to be more, do more, and have more. We also say that Leadership is taking a stand for others and  creating something that would not be otherwise possible.

Core values live at the heart of a business. Defining core values can help businesses shape company culture, support the company vision, educate clients about the identity of the company, and influence behavior.

We encourage every business to determine and define their values in a way such that employees will feel touched, moved, and inspired.  New call-to-action
